There was a pilgrimage out west,
A land of barbarians.
With spear and sword in hand,
A path was cut out.
Broken and beaten through the Oregon Trail,
Settling down on a large patch of grass.
Finally before winters frost,
The grounds were sown and seed planted.
A little cottage was built with a wall to defend.
A new beginning, a new farm, the settlers were happy. |
